Let's do some good!

Craft Brew House in the Redlands Coast Community

Craft Brew House is proud to be a community space on the Redlands Coast. We won the Redlands Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for Community in June 2023 and we are always looking for ways to get involved in the community. Be it through fundraisers, donations or hosting events we are unique in what we do. Our entire ethos, from the tag-line on our T-shirts (Craft Brew House is my therapy), to our involvement with TIACS, our wearing of TradeMutt shirts and our community involvement is key to our plan for the future for Craft.

Cure for Kora Fundraiser

Craft Brew House created and hosted the “Cure for Kora” Fundraiser in June 2023  for Rett Syndrome Research, inspired by Kora, the daughter of one of our local community.

Through various activities, including auctions and raffles, we showcased the generous donations from local businesses and individuals who share our commitment to making a positive impact. The outpouring of support and the enthusiasm of the attendees contributed significantly to the success of the fundraising efforts.

We are delighted to share that we reached our fundraising goal, raising a total of $20,000! These funds will directly support Rett Syndrome research and help bring trials to Australia. With this achievement, we are taking a significant step forward in our mission to accelerate progress toward finding a cure.

Craft Brew House is immensely grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and participated in this important cause. Your contributions and support have made a tangible difference in the lives of children like Kora, who are affected by Rett Syndrome. Together, we have shown what can be achieved when a community comes together for a common purpose.

You can read more about this wonderful fundraiser in the local media with this story.

Wheels for Micah Fundraiser

Micah is the son of one of our amazing crew, Gem. He is a 12-year-old boy with level 5 spastic quadriplegic Cerebral palsy, and he is non-verbal. He faces multiple health challenges, including epilepsy and reflux. Despite these difficulties, Micah’s infectious positivity and vibrant spirit brighten the lives of everyone he encounters.

Micah has grown too heavy to be lifted in and out of the family car, and his current car seat is no longer suitable for his needs. We worked with Gem’s family and hosted a fundraiser “Wheels for Micah” event on September 2nd 2023. We had tremendous support from the community, friends, everyone that donated and purchased tickets with all funds raised going to provide a wheelchair accessible vehicle for Micah. This vehicle will enable Micah to join the family on outings to the community, where he can experience joy and inclusivity alongside his family and carers.

Almost $3,000 was raised on the night with live raffles. When you add that to the rest of the fundraising initiatives, we are thrilled to report that the family have so far raised $22,500.

If you would like to donate, then there is a Go Fund Me Wheels for Micah page created by the family.

TradeMutt and TIACS

The Craft Brew House charity of choice is TIACS – “This is a conversation starter“. It all started back in 2022 when Martin and I attended the Gympie Muster for the first time. We heard about TradeMutt Day when everyone there was encouraged to wear a TradeMutt shirt. We purchased one each and at the same time had a conversation about this amazing initiative. Did you know that 50% of the profit of all TradeMutt shirts is given to TIACS to provide free mental healthcare to tradies, blue collar workers and their families across Australia? It didn’t take long for us to decide that we wanted to share this conversation far and wide, and that has become our mission.

Many of our customers wear the shirts at Craft at various times and we wear them whenever we travel interstate and to network events. Any excuse to wear a shirt and we take it.

In October 2022 we were invited to talk to the local Redlands Chamber of Commerce about all things TradeMutt and TIACS as part of their mental health awareness month. We gladly took up the challenge. Every cocktail course starts with the story of Dan and Ed and how these two companies came to be what they are today. We tell everyone that we can. In September 2023 we have been asked to give a further speech about this initiative to the Rotary Club of Cleveland.

In addition to all the conversations that we have started, we also collect our recycling at Craft and donate regularly to TIACS.
